How to use silicone sealant

Categories:Company News Time of issue:2025-05-09 Hits:21

1、 How to use silicone sealant
First, clean the area where silicone sealant is to be used, including dust, to avoid affecting the sealing effect. Next, open the sealant cover and install the nozzle. You can use a blade to cut the nozzle larger, and then install it onto the glue gun to clamp it. At this point, you can align the glue nozzle with the area that needs to be glued, slowly pushing it while moving it backwards until all the glue is applied, and then wait for it to dry.
2、 What to pay attention to when using silicone sealant
1. To avoid improper operation that may cause bubbles and affect the sealing effect
Although silicone sealant is easy to operate in use, a slight mistake can easily introduce air, which can generate bubbles and lead to poor sealing in the future. Therefore, when applying glue, it is important to apply even force. One area must not stop or come to a halt before the glue is applied, otherwise bubbles can easily run into the hose.
2. Clean the construction surface before use
Before use, it is necessary to do a good job of cleaning the site, that is, to clean up the garbage and dust on and around the construction surface, to avoid dust affecting the adhesion and bonding effect of the sealant. If the construction surface is very dirty, it cannot be cleaned with detergent, or it will leak into the interior, and the foam of detergent will also affect the sealing effect of sealant.
3. Avoid situations where the humidity is too high
If the humidity on the construction surface is too high, it is also prone to bubbles and other issues. Therefore, when applying silicone sealant, we should avoid working in rainy weather. Otherwise, the heavy water vapor in the air will increase the moisture in the gaps. At this time, it is difficult to cure the sealant, and if the internal moisture evaporates in the later stage of sun exposure, it will also affect the effectiveness of the sealant.
